Silver Glen Springs is a huge blue gem located in Florida’s Ocala National Forest! It’s hard to believe how beautiful the blue water is until you see it for yourself. We absolutely loved this spring and its crystal clear waters! Located in Florida off a giant lake called Lake George, the water temperature is a constant 72 degrees but feels great in the Florida heat after a hike. Join us for a swim and a nice canoe ride to Lake George. What a great adventure! 🔔 SUBSCRIBE for more adventures! Vegan Pumpkin Muffin Recipe: Best of Florida Springs: Biking and Hiking All Florida! 1. We visited Rainbow springs, Salt springs and Silver Glen in June this year. Silver Glen was our favorite and there was a manatee that came in while we were there. It was quite crowded and he turned around quickly, but we saw him.

  2. You two are too adorable! Girl, that huge bee! I would've freaked and completely fall in the water so good job for not falling and not getting stung! We live in The Villages so we're not far at all 🙂

  5. Great capture of your experience, how is the water temp and also from where you park the car to the actual swim spot how far is that distance? I'd really like to take my parents here but they are elder and want to know if it's too challenging

  6. Hi I just found you 3/19/22. I’ve been binge watching having just got a Solis in Jan after watching Yiutubers in 2020-21. I love the flexibility of my van. Moved to Pcola and love all the state parks in north Florida and Big Lagoon near me. Have fun. I love getting back to camping

  10. It’s a beautiful spot…we were there this weekend (July 2021)….super busy so we will be going back in the fall/winter months. There is a $10 per person fee to enter on weekends and please note that they open at 8am. There’s limited parking also so it’s worth getting there early and waiting in line before they open. Loved the trail also.

  12. We use to camp there in the 1970s. It was so beautiful and the spring was all lit up at night. Swimimg was allowed till 9pm. The campsites were just up the hill from the spring.

We went there 5 years in a row. We had a pop-up camping trailer

  13. It IS a beautiful place but there used to be SO MUCH MORE fish about 15 years ago and NO algae. These beautiful places are being ruined 😔💔

  16. My friend and I just went last Sunday–air temps in the 60s. We rented a canoe and we saw at least 50 manatees! Two alligators sunning themselves. No power boats parked there at all which was a nice surprise. A few people were in the water, and my friend also braved it. Not me! I'll wait until its hotter, but I'm looking forward to going back next spring/summer. I've lived in NE Florida for nearly 20 years and I can't believe I've never been there before. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! We also hiked both trails, but we also saw a few piles of bear poo…kind of worrisome. Near the turnaround point, we found a couple of deer. Then went a little further and heard some more loud rustling in the woods, chickened out and turned back. A word of caution to anyone considering going out to the SGS Rec Area, admission price is per person, not per vehicle, and it has gone up from what web site says. Also they are not doing hourly canoe rentals, as what the website says, but want you to pay for the daily rental…$40-something dollars. So we thought we'd be paying about $25 for the day, and it ended up coasting about $55! But the water is gorgeous, and I'm glad I went. Thanks for the inspirational nudge, Paul and Sarah!
