Koh Kood Neverland Beach Resort
More on Ko Kut
The ageing Neverland Resort is the only place to stay on Ao Jak with its countless palm trees set between a bang-up beachfront and turquoise-water estuary .
Made of coconut wood and waver bamboo with metal or thatched ceiling, the rooms have dated interiors with old obstruct TVs, firm mattresses and hot-water wet bathrooms that could use some upgrades. All rooms have a countrified cabin feel and seem to have been designed for Thai families, with extra mattresses coming standard in both the low- and mid-range rooms.

The cheaper digs sit beside the khlong within a two-minute stroll ( or paddle ) of the beach. A pair of duplex structures at the rear each have one room on either side and a bathroom shared at the center, plus a common deck—very good respect for families renting both rooms. Those have tiled floors and concrete walls and the one we walked through appeared bright and well kept. The priciest bungalows have porches and looking glass doors affording sea views through the many palms of a seafront lawn and garden. here you ’ ll find tons of space to roam along with kayaks, loungers and a humble stupa and emotional state house. Though we haven ’ thyroxine tried the food, Neverland ’ s beachfront cafe has a rooftop patio where you can chill beneath the casuarina.

The receptionist who showed us around was notably patient and accessible ; it took him half a minute to explain the available rooms and invite us for a attend before we ’ five hundred even asked. Neverland draws large groups of Thais on weekends, however, and we assume the small staff becomes more preoccupy when that ’ s the lawsuit. We were told that release WiFi works in the restaurant.
While Neverland can be reached by road you can besides approach it by walking around the promontory from Khlong Hin—that ’ s what we did and it ’ s a dreamy digress out of the woods, across the wooden bridge, over the estuary and into the green grounds packed with palms. The room rates we saw listed on Neverland ’ s web site were about double those printed in a booklet that we received at the property. The booklet prices were, in turn, slightly more expensive than the walk-in rates that we were quoted at a interfering time in February .
