About Us

Coffee Labs is a small, freelancer coffee roaster and coffee bean theater located in Tarrytown, New York. We are highly committed to working with sustainable coffee sources. Through chocolate relationships & visiting farms in coffee growing regions, we form lasting partnerships that ensure a fair price and a high quality product. We roast coffee bean 7 days a week to ensure maximum freshness for both our retail and wholesale customers. The Green Restaurant Association has certified us a 3 leading green restaurant, and our coffee has won several awards, including second place in America ’ sulfur Best Espresso 2013 .

We are also a 11-time winner of Best of Westchester including Best Coffee Shop of the Decade!

18 Years of Coffee Labs

2001

Coffee Labs owners Mike and Alicia Love go to their first SCAA Expo in Anaheim CA. At this event, they decide to open Coffee Labs. One of the reasons they decide to join the industry is how inspiring the people are. At the show they realize there is a development in the industry : people are committing themselves to sustainability and quality. They are visiting chocolate growing countries ( what we call beginning ), which is precisely what Mike and Alicia want to do in their approaching attempt .

2003

Coffee Labs opens its doors in May of 2003 as the first “ third base wave ” coffee roaster in Westchester County, and one of the beginning in the New York Metropolitan Area. We set out to bring a higher charge of specialization coffee to a region that had not so far been exposed to it .

2004

We take our first trip to origin in Mexico. This is our first experience of buy at lineage, through a accommodative called San Cristobal .

2006

Mike Starts competing as a barista .
The Stirling Syrup Contest is the first gear big contest we participate in. Mike comes in moment, and employee Sterling Muth wins first home in the contest. ( The mention similarity is merely a coincidence ! )

2007

Roaster Doug Wray wins an test contest for his try “ Why I Roast ” in Roast Magazine, published nationally .

2008

We establish our first of many direct relationships with a farmer in Honduras, which lasts for 5 years .
Mike wins his first ultimate barista backing with his unique drink “ The Espresso Belgique ” and went on to win in 18 different categories including Best of Brew, Espresso Cocktail and Latte Art over the following few years in Russia, China and the U.S .

2009

Mike wins another three Ultimate Barista Challenge titles including Latte Art, Espresso Cocktail and Overall Points Champion .

2010

Mike wins another four titles at the Ultimate Barista Championship. A Latte Art Challenge, two Espresso Frappe Challenges and Overall Points Champion .

2011

Mike wins another Espresso Frappe Challenge at the Ultimate Barista Championship .

2012

Mike wins two more Challenges at Ultimate Barista Championships, Overall Points and the Espresso Cocktail Challenge .
Mike decides to stop competing professionally in holy order to focus more on Coffee Labs .

2013

Coffee Labs wins second space at America ‘s Best Espresso .

2015-2018

In 2015, Coffee Labs opened our first off site placement inside a bombastic Biotech company located in Tarrytown. The shrink ended after 2 years, and we are presently looking for new locations to expand our business into .
